Post SCCA ITS specs for 911 T & E Corrected

The August Sportscar list the corrected specs for the 911 in ITS. I'm not familiar enough with the 911 to know if they are correct, but here they are:

So, what's the consensus from the rear-engine crowd? Are these going to stand a chance at being competitive in ITS?

first 70-71 is the 2.2L, 72-73 is the 2.4L.

Im not real familiar with ITS rules, what can be done to the engine, i.e. what kind of injection system, can you use larger size carbs, can you use a more aggressive cam shaft. Judging so far by scca's lack of knowledge about these cars i think they would be hard pressed to figure out what would be considered cheating and what wouldn't be.

Also, the min. weight seems a little high as the stock weight for the 70-71 911 as listed in pca club racing (stock interior) is 2250, and 2310 for the 72-73 911. I'm guessing this includes the driver, so with the interior removed this should allow you to make these cars have more of a 50/50 weight distribution with creative use of ballast.

Wonderful. So you're telling me that the specs are still wrong?

Can you point me to a reliable (and readily available) reference that I can use to correct this?

Stock induction/fuel system (ex. FPR), stock cam(s).

I'd tend to agree with you.

Minimum weight is set to at least attempt to ensure that no car is a overdog. No creative use of ballast is allowed. All ballast must be bolted to the passenger footwell.

Yep! Welcome to the wonderful world of SCCA and IT! Sucks to be us! As Geo noted, no cams, no carbs, all stock, and no more than 100# ballast allowed, must be in the passenger footwell floor area only.

Thank you for calling!

That's the compression ratio for the 2.2L 911S engine. I guess it's time to order new P&Cs
