Recomendations for autox/street brake pads wanted

I'd appreciate input on which brake pads would work best for my '99 996 C2 coupe as a combination street/autocross pad. I'd prefer not to change pads before/after every event so I'm looking for a pad that works better at higher temps than the stock pad but isn't impractical or really noisy for everyday driving. Thanks.

For that I use Pagid Orange (RS?), they are quiet and have stopping power similar to the old Cool Carbon's. Dust is relatively minimal (for a high perf pad). They are expensive though. FYI, I believe they were offered by Porsche in one of the sport option packages.
For everyones benefit, please post the results of your research.

Mike, Pagids are pretty hard on rotors and they squeeeeeek. I have them on my track car which I do about 15+ events a year in. Great pad but I don't know if you will get them up to temp in an AutoX situation. Please someone else chime in since I don't have any experience with AutoX and brake pads.

You might try Hawk HP Plus, which is marketed as a street/track pad. I've used two sets for DE and driving to and from, and they're fairly easy on rotors. They're very noisy on the street, but they don't require warm-up to work. Should be good for autocross/street if you can live with the squealing.

I have a 993 that I have used Oranges in
the front for AutoX and DE's.
I agree with earlier post. Unless you are
fortunate enough to be doing AutoX at the
Q with PCA-SD (last one I did there had
three third gear straights!) Oranges simply
do not get hot enough.
For a leave in AutoX/DE pad, my next set
is either going to be Ferodo or Pagid Dark Blues.

Tim,
We have an autox site that allows two third gear straights depending on layout. This weekend there was just one. After my third run in the second session on Sunday my stock pads were starting to cook. Still, if you really have to get a lot of heat in the orange Pagid's they might not be the best choice. I'm also not crazy about a really noisy pad for the street, although I'm no doubt going to have to make some compromise here.
What else can you tell me about the Ferodo's and Pagid Dark Blue's? Thanks.

Juan mentioned Cool Carbon pads - Cool Carbon is no longer around, but the same pads (so I understand) are made by KFP (KPF?) and are available from Paragon. I've used them for a number of years on the track. They're noisy on the street, but pretty rotor-friendly and work pretty well cold. Not as expensive as Pagids.

Re Fedoro
First, I have a friend with a 993 that has
them and he is very happy. He reports good
performance at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca.
Second, they come recommended by Steve Weiner.
This weighs very heavily for them.
Re Pagid
They have such a great reputation, their new
pad deserves consideration. I believe that
"dark blues" are also called "sport" or "type S".

Mike, I have used Oranges on my 99 996 for a couple of years with very good results. They are great on the track. Oranges are a bit noisy on the street but not as bad as I expected. While they work best when hot I have found them to be fine for autox and for the street. As for excessive rotor wear, it may be worse than stock pads but not a significant problem. Trust me, compared to the money you fork out for the pads the rotors are cheap.
Hope this helps.

I have had good luck with Porterfield R4S pads for autocross (at the "Q" mentioned above) and street. Quiet, not too much dust, good pedal feel and not too expensive. Anyone else tried these?
