Careful with trying to outgun these troopers. Their top speed is right up there with many of our cars. Whether the troopers can handle the car is another story........

The Florida Troopers are IN the Camaros are'nt they?
I don't think I'd worry about they're driving skills as I imagine they get lots of good training and the chance to practice! They can drive the interstate like it was an autobahn.
Also it doesn't matter if they drove Geos, there are a lot more of them than us.

When I was in college (1994), coming back from Spring Break, I talked to a Florida trooper at a gas station near Daytona who was driving a Mustang, fully marked. I asked how modified it was and he just smiled. It even had a manual transmission. I guess Chevy gave them a better deal on the Camaros.

I would watch out in South Carolina. I think when BMW opened their plant I remember seeing a picture of an SCHP M-5 (with happy trooper). South Carolina still probably wants to support local industry.

In the late 60's, Alabama State Troopers got 50 AMX's. Dubious, considering there was no usable backseat, and they STILL couldn't hang on to the Superbirds, Hemi Cudas, Boss 302s, 427 Vettes common on our roads at the time. Now we are hoping they get ML55 AMGs (a fine homebuilt product)...
