Post What works best to remove rubber marks from DE events?

I just got finished up from having 7 track days in the last 3 weeks and need to spend some cleaning up my car - what a blast!!
What do people use to easily/safely remove the marks left on the car from flying track rubber? I don't want to do anything that would damage the paint or remove wax (am going to order Zaino & will be applying in 2 weekends if that has any bearing on your recommendation). The car is an '88 944 Turbo S.
Thanks much.

I use Fantastic/Formula 409, which does a pretty good job of taking the rubber off. Probably also does a good job of taking the wax off, too.

I use GOOP hand cleaner, it works great. Wash and wax when done.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover works well, along with the others mentioned.

I vote for P21S paint cleaner but you still have to rub and it will take off the wax for sure. Justin Bell also sells some stuff which works well but I think it's only available by the case, so you have to find a dealer.

I also use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar with excellent results.

Also, a couple of good coats of wax before the event makes clean up afterwards 10X easier.

We used WD40 on the champ car after a race, especially on the leading edges on the front wing and flaps. After a 2hr race, the car would be peppered with rubber and all sorts of things. Hot dog rappers were really difficult to get off the hot parts of the car. We'd also end up with rubber all over the turbo impeller that WD40 would take right off.

Rick,
Welcome to the club! I found that some bug and tar remover and a bug sponge worked pretty well. Cleaner type wax helps also.

We use Maguires Cleaner Wax (also Zymol Cleaner Wax) - more importantly, "cleaner wax." Takes off rubber markes, donughts (that don't hit metal) and so on - works great.

I've used the Zymol HD Cleanse with success on these. Pretty mild, non-invasive, but does remove the wax.

Or... Just leave them on until enough people ask you what the heck you've been doing with your nice Porsche <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Rick,
I like Xenit (from Stoners)...citrus based, very safe and I also like Porsche Tequipment Insect remover.
After either one, I apply some wax over the cleaned areas.

Chris is right. I use WD40 & it's works great. Let it soak for about 5 minutes & the rubber comes right off. Plus, you can buy it by the gallon & just put it in a squirt bottle to take to the track.
