The current issue of Excellence Magazine has an article about how to purchase a Porsche 910. Since I’m looking for a new project, I started to do some research. The article states the values are between $25,000 for one in rough condition and $50,000 for an excellent example. Is this a realistic price range? It also states there are quite a few for sale, although I can’t find any for sale. I’m also curious to know if anyone has driven a 910, also how safe are they, since they were built as light weight racers. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.

I haven't seen the article yet, but it appears there is a zero missing from the estimated prices. I think there were 28 made and they don't get sold often. A friend from work just sold his a couple months ago.

There was an article a while back, I think in Excellence, about Jeff Zwartz (sp). He's the photographer from California who's won his class at Pikes Peak with many Porsches in the past. The article showed him driving a 910, I believe or maybe a 906, on the street. Supposedly it was licensed and all. That would be the ultimate car to take to the Checkers drive through

It's a funny article... it even talks about negotiating with the owner before you settle on an offer. Something to the effect of, "If the price seems wrong, just walk away and wait for the next 910 to come along...."

Just saw the article today...
Next to the prices is an asterik. The asterik goes on to say something about the possibllity of laughter and the need to maybe raise the price a bit.
Took a double take to get over. Pretty funny

I'm so gullible. I never caught on that it was a joke article even though I could never figure out how they got their numbers and justified many of their statements. I'm glad I don't look at politicians this way.

Have to admit it took me a while to realize it was an April Fools joke. Looked at the cover to make sure it was the April issue! Started to wonder when he was making comments about how many were out there and also the picture of him driving it on the street like it was a road car...actually pretty funny...
