Anir: I just ran outside to check. My track tires (and street tires until I fix my Fikse) are Kumho Ecsta V700s. I have no interest in going to a Hoosier unless I get a trailer since I drive the car to the track.
The Kumhos don't make much noise at the limit, especially compared to those damn howlin P-Zeros.
I could definitely feel them sliding in my butt-o-meter. I was also able to explore the "friction circle" with them when I went too hot into the button hook and tried braking hard and steering at the same time. They just slid straight until I eased off the brakes enough for them to do two things at once.
Maybe I'll just go to Willow and tear up the P-Zeros cause I don't care for them. I'm already terrified of turn 9 and I've never even been on the track there!

Anir,
I would take a look at the Michelin's too. Hoosier's are great if you are racing & looking for that last tenth or two but they don't last long
As a side note, wouldn't it suck if we all had real jobs & couldn't sit around on a Friday afternoon & postulate on the good/bad of track tires

Yes, that would suck!

I've used the P-Zero C's (not regular P-Zero's, BTW, Scott) because they are available in 245/35-18, which is a perfect match, with respect to rolling diameter, to my 285/30-18 rears.
The 245's up front also greatly help to dial out the inherent understeer in my AWD model. I am hoping the Michelin will come out with a 245/35.
