Suncoast Porsche SCCA Team Claims Two Divisional Solo 2 Titles
The S2 Motorsports team, sponsored by Suncoast Porsche, won two titles at the Sports Car Club of America's Southeast Division Solo 2 championship event at Gainesville Raceway June 23.
Danny Shields drove the Suncoast Porsche Boxster S to victory in A Street Prepared class, after running the first half of the event in a 2002 Corvette Z06. C. J. Spencer defeated teammate Sharron Shields in ASP Ladies, producing a 1-2 finish for the Suncoast team.
The two class wins clinched SEDIV series championships for Shields and Spencer, with a final event at Roebling Road still to come. With the series titles locked up, the team will miss the Roebling event to attend Porsche Parade 2002 in Boise, Idaho.
The team will be back in action June 30 at the Suncoast Region PCA autocross at Zephyrhills Airport.
