14 lb 17" racing wheels by VOLK

Re the Volks...
The Audiheads occasionally mount them. Frankly, I don't care for the look and until they're race-tested, I would have some questions about the Volks' ability to take race-track lateral stress. I know Volk has made some pretty nice 5-spoke race wheels over the years (se Kremer 962 variants, etc.), but I am not sure the wheels you are inquiring about are really racing wheels vs. ultralight street wheels for the import-racer set. (Think Acura Integra, etc.).
Option B-- Bite the bullet and get BBS Motorsport.

You are probably right Lee. Since you are sitting out so many track events how about I keep the dust off your wheels for you? <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />

I thought these Volks were discussed in recent memory, and only their 18" rims would fit Porsche hubs? Somehow I didn't think the 17" rims would work, but then sometimes I have trouble remembering yesterday

Volk is heavily involved with racing in Japan. You don't have to worry about their ability to hold up. They are super light and super strong.

Volk Racing is one of the few making 1-piece forged wheels (like Fuchs). This is the strongest method of making a wheel and you end up with the lightest product for the same strength.
Which models are you looking for? There's a couple of magnesium versions, but only for Hondas. For the Japanese market, they also make an 8-lb titanium wheel as well...

Volk Racing Wheels are simply outstanding. Volk is big in Japan and their "37" line (all wheels that have 37 in their model designation) are 1-piece forged wheels. Very cool looking and strong design.
My friend Mike's 300ZX Twinturbo with Volk Racing TE37 wheels. 18X8.5 front and 18X9.5 rear:
