(OT) F1 Championship game on PS3
Sorry if this is a bit OT but since there are quite a few F1 fans on this board, I thought I would post this.
I am not sure how many on this board have a PS3 but if you do, this is the game to get: "Formula 1 Championship edition"

After I bought the PS3 (Mainly to wach Blu-Ray Movies), I found out about this game coming out sometimes this year for the PS3. After downloading the demo and watching the videos, I couldn t wait. Thanks to another forum, I also found out that the game came out in Japan in December and that it was possible to order it via another website from Japan.
There are no zones in PS3 games and altough some of the menus are in Japanese, the more important menus are in english as well as the commentary from the pit crew in the game. Only the commentary from the journalists is in Japanese which actually makes the game more fun.
So I ordered the game. The game was cheaper than in the US and shipping was free.
I got the game yesterday and it is amazing. The graphis are stunning and gameplay is awesome. There is too much to describe ut if you are a F1 fan and own a PS3 get this game.
Here is the website where it can be ordered from Japan.

Here is a link to the videos from the game

We have PS3 (son playing NHL07 in 42" HDTV looks amazing!) and have been waiting for the Grand Tourismo 5 but mean time, this will help!
You need a proper steering wheel though, I have a great one that worked with PS2 (brake, gas, cltch, gear shift level or F1 style levelers, really good force feedback etc.), I hope it works with PS3 too.
P.S. How can I transfer saved date from PS2 memory card to a PS3 (I have Grand Turismo saved data on old PS2 card)?

I figured by the time GT5 comes out there will be reman'd PS3's discounted on the shelf.
They say 2007 Release but we all know that means 2008.
I am going to look into that F1 game - thanks!

I got a chance to play a demo of PS3 version of Gran Turismo 5 on Blaine S's new system. He installed a Sony 1080p projector in his media room that projects onto an 8' screen. Just amazing. The blend between background and foreground is incredible.

Good news:
Pre-order deposit in place for game delivery on 2/27 at local GameStop (it's for my son....really).
50" plasma, 5.1 surround, PS3 60GB, www.bobearlracing.com seat/virtual racingchassis....all ready to go.
Bad news:
AFAIK (from CES in Las Vegas, online PS forums, Google, etc), the PS3 does not/will not support force feedback (due to continuing legal arguments between Sony and Immersion).
Your GT4 game/wheel works with force feedback on a PS2, but use the same PS2 disc and wheel on your PS3....no force feedback!
So, that new Logitech G25 $299 leather wrapped wheel with aluminum paddle shifters, 3 aluminum pedals and 6 speed or sequential gearshift ****

.....no force feedback enabled on PS3.

With out the force feedback, it feels like driving on ice. That was the only down side to the PS3/GT5 experience. Of course the problem may have been the driver.
