Default Race car insurance-New Jersey

Who write policies for "off the track", track car insurance? Cover the car while trailered and garaged? Most of the common vendors exclude NJ

A common question.
I use Laurel for on track, but the problem is off track and in the trailer.
Is the car registered? Mine is not, but AMICA sold me collision and comprehensive anyway. I feel as though I am overpaying (not a lot of collision risk since car is never driven off the track except in the paddock and on repair plates to the mechanic's, and that's only about 3 miles).
Hope this helps.

Not registered. Would be impounded if caught on the street!

Are you looking for coverage for DE or racing? I get my DE insurance though American Collectors. I don't have racing insurance.

But, I thought American Collector is no longer offering or renewing DE insurance.
Hope I am wrong but I don't think so.

They coverage is 'off-key', i.e. paddock, trailer, and garage when the car is not operating under it's own power. If the motor is running you are not covered (except if you were in the process of driving it onto your trailer).

My policy:

1983 Porsche 911 valued at $40K - $400 annually
2006 Factrory Five Challenge Cobra valued at $25K - $250 annually

Minimum policy price is $250, so claim at least $25K in value if you use them.

John,

I got a quote from them a couple of weeks ago. My NJ address is on the coverletter.

A quick check of their site indicates that NJ and MA are not listed, and thus I assume not available.
For fun (!) I checked the premium in NH and ME (I live in MA but have a cottage in ME) and it was $250 for a $40k value car. I did not look further, but that was for comprehensice, collision, and $50k of liability; that premiumis stunningly low. It is for the race car product but I doubt it offers coverage on the track; if it did, I am moving to ME!

I have a policy through Allstate and although I live in the beautiful state of Virginia it still only cost me $56 every 6 months.
Of course I have 4 additional cars, my house, my rental house and my business property insurred with them as well...

Update.
Heacock is covering NJ with "key off" only coverage. You can't go through their website.
Thanks Nader.

I just mailed in my Heacock application on Monday (CT). Pretty cheap and at least I'm covered if my baby is stolen or hurt while not on track.

I have Heathcock now and I live in NJ. They are also sending me a free hat for referring Colin.
