shut up Reno
mileage depends. I towed cross country last summer - cruise on 75 sometimes 80 (no BS)4000 mile average of 12.5 I am very sure I could have picked up a couple more if we wouold have dropped it to 65, but trip was compacted unexpectedly b four days so we had to make it up. Best highway I got was 15.4 - but that was only two hour trip cruise on 65 - have not been able to hit that again.
Anyway if you are real throttle happy ripping around in town it can get ugly - I got as bad as 7 once... normally in town is about 10
EDIT:
8.1 not avaialble?? No ****? was last year - wow looks like the girly man 6.0 is biggest gas motor

Only powerplant in the 3/4 ton models is the 6 litre gasser, 353hp, 385torque
On the 3/4 ton pickups, you can also get the Duramax diesel, which is the bomb....but not in the giant SUV's.

I just took an 800 mile trip down to Virginia in my Dodge Cummins Diesel and got 20.5 mpg. Of course that was sans trailer.

We get a lot of trailer related questions on here so I figured a little reminder of how one can get in trouble might help some folks avoid it in the future.

Since it kind of pertains to the topic, how many of you really have checked your tongue weights? No obscene comments from you Dave! I just ponied up $125 to buy that Sherline scale and found out that my Featherlite 24' enclosed has 800 lbs on the tongue, and that is unloaded! I will definately check it out and get a proper balance when I put the car in it.

Sounds reasonable to me Larry - 24ft enclosed is not a lightweight. Also assume that you have hitch height propper - trailer level not uphill on hitch - lots of people run impropper reciever drop and get excess tongue weight
Bet you find tongue weight does not change too much if you can load trailer properly (ie car weight over axles)
EDIT:
Sorry can't help myself - (strapping in bench racing 5 point)
"in my F250 V10......6.8L, 275hp, 410 ft lbs"
GMC V8....8.1, 340hp, 455ft lbs torque
Bring it!
