Post Track Car Data Acquisition / Display

I'm looking at installing a data acquisition unit in my track car that incorporates the features of the DL90 discussed earlier in this forum.
(2 Axis Accelerometer for Friction Circle,Lap Timer via GPS, PC download & analysis).

However, I see that the following unit from AIM Sports offers similar capability as well as:
- Shift Lite (programmable)
- Standard Lap Timer capability
- Low Oil Pressure Warn Lite
- High Water Temp Warn Lite
- many other data sensors (digital/analog)...
- plus Digital Display

Has anyone installed/tried this unit ? Please advise... Thanks !

We have been using and selling these for some time. We love them. I have an EVO3 8 Chan with Digital dash in my 3.6 lrt Boxster race car. Once you have it you will never go back to stock stuff again!

Don't forget to give the STACK system a look. I have that in a 993 Track car and the data you can retrieve is very beneficial. Especially with the software for a laptop which allows you to overlay your performance on a track. This way you can compare run vs. run and that's where the feedback gives you hints on where you can go faster. It's an onboard coach. Systems like these though aren't cheap and they are pretty elaborate to install.

It really depends on what you want to do. DL90 has couple major advantages over the AIM. 1. GPS based track mapping (more accurate) 2. easily installs 3 mins. The AIM has lots of features and is excellent bang for the buck.

If you have a car that doesn't have any gauges yet, and don't need to move the unit around, go with AIM. If you want something you can setup quickly at track and primarily you only look at couple of things (personally, I just view speed and g vs. lap mostly) and easy to use, get the DL90. Both AIM and DL90 have full softwares you can try. If you have any Q's on DL90 feel free to contact me at frank@dl90.com
