Post Solid bushings

Wondering if anyone has any experience with Racers edge solid bushings on a 944 turbo? My car was built with nylon/delrin bushings. I'm wondering if going to the solid metal bushings would make a noticeable difference. This is a track only race car. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />

My early 944 NA racecar was originally built with Delrin (Weltmeister) bushings, and the darn things cracked all the time. I'll bet I put 3 sets in the car. I had a heim joint bearing installed and it cured the cracking problem. I still use delrin on the trailing part of the arm. But as far as performance, I can feel nothing, but I don't have to worry about them cracking. I know nothing about the brand you are talking about, but if they are made of steel, the will obviously last longer.

Larry, I also have a 951 racer. On the front, I have all Racers Edge solid bushings with billet a-arms. In the rear, also all RE solid bushings. There is a noticeable difference over the stock bushings. Combined with my Bilstiens (coilovers at all 4 corners), the car handles great. Turn ins are crisp, and the solid bushings help prevent alignment changes under heavy loading.

Thanks Mike. Would you say they're worth the $1300 price tag then?

Curious whether you've also tried 18" wheels on the car. If so, was there also a noticeable difference on the track?

Yeah, for me , definitely worth it.
I use Hoosiers on 18" wheels, always have...so can't comment on the difference between 18s and others. My car is classed in GT3 for PCA club racing. Unfortunately it is under powered for this class. The car ('89 951) is lightened, has a race suspension, big brakes, bone stock 2.5 liter with a K27 and a chip. It has something like 300-310 hp at the crank. I'm able to turn 2.14s at Watkins, and mid 1.25s at Summit Pt.
My point is that a good suspension set-up goes a long way in shaving off seconds.
