Post FUN FUN @ Beaver Run!

Just got on line after a week of...Cyber problems!
Any way ..Beaver Run this Last weekend (3 days for price of two) w/ CVR-PCA was a blast! an easy 1/2 hour from Pittsburgh airport and 1 1/2 hour from Cleveland. Nice and wide w/ room to slide-safely( pretty much) Dries pretty darn fast, very nice grip w/ my "Sport Cups" w/ now 42 heat cycles!
Any one else here-there?

Hi Bill,

I was there - trying to get a jump start on theline before the race in July. I agree, the grip was pretty good once it stopped raining. Excepting for some puddling on the back straight. I spun in the kink on Saturday during the downpour at the begining of the day. One second I was in control, and snap - I was along for ride.

The double-apex turn complete (11&12 ?) at the end ofthe back straight and onto the front straight was a tire eater for me. I was getting huge loads onto the outside rear left tire. It chewed off a 2 inch strip all around the outside of one of my Kumho's. Sunday, I ran the Michelins with only about 13 heat cycles on them and the left rear didn't survive either.

Neat track, the race should be fun.

Chris, I spun twice on Friday! The up hill hairpin #12 bit me 'cause of a little to early apex from a missed shift to 2nd( I glanced @ the shifter to see where the heck it was, and @ the next nanosecond said to myself I'd better turn, well I Really turned! The video was quite exciting, as the car behind me went screeching safely by. Lesson learned!
The other on #5/6??, before the off camber right @ the top of the hill. Not exactly clear, but trying slightly different lines/ speeds to get set-up for the back straight. Fortunately I spun very near the end of the last run of the day, and simply slide harmlessly. I was done.
Did you get any times? I had some trouble w/ my Hot Lapper most of the time but got a couple low 1:14's. I thought was respectable considering only my second year, and a lot of guys w/ much more seat time saying 1:11/12's.
The Sport Pilot Cups we're great, even in the drizzle, and ended the 3 days w/ a total of 42 heat cycles My Tech says I've got only 1-2 weekends left on the rears ..Max! Ordered another set since Watkins Glenn is next,@ the very end of the month, and my other half will be running too

Emergency spares!
Best in your race

I was running 1:10.5-1:11's on Friday with my old Kumho's. When I threw on my Michelins for Sunday and started running with a couple of my racer buddys, I got a 1:08 flat. I can probably get into the 1:07's, but that's gonna have to wait until the race weekend. We'll see how fast that will be when the other E class racers show up.
