Source for used Hoosiers
Anyone know a good source for used Hoosiers. I run 245/40/17s and 275/40/17s on my 944 turbo s. Mostly doing DEs so it's not worth paying the $800 for a new set.

Larry,
Check with Dave Schardt over at WheelSource. I bet them may have a few. If that doesn't work, there is a guy that works for bob woodman tires that sells used ones. maybe EJ will post his email and contact info.

It's great deal. Bob carries used Hoosiers, Pirellis and Goodyears. He has a pretty good selection, but might not always have the exact size or brand your looking for. The inventory changes weekly.
I've been buying mine from him for two years now. Typical price is about $75-100 per tire and they last quite a while. I've driven 4-5 open track days at Road Atlanta on this set for a total of about 600-700 miles in my '87 930. Pretty good for the price, considering the 18" Pirelli P-Zero slicks I use are about $275-350 for new one's. Fortunatly he's local for me here in Charleston, SC.

If Bob is shipping tires left over from the Grand Am Cup series be aware that they are a slightly different compound than the ones you can buy from most retailers. They went to a slightly harder compound so the tires may last a bit longer. Not a problem unless you put the Grand Am tire on the back or front with the normal compound.
