I'm not challenging anyone's claims, BTW. It makes sense that the product would work w/ a 3 pt, but the friction should be lower with one less belt, so one would expect the loads to be higher in that setting.
We've never heard of anyone testing these products with a 3 pt., but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done.

Here is the Delphi set up. Just a bench seat:
WSU is a lower impact, but generates higher upper neck tension. If you watch the slo mo vids carefully you can see the shoulder supports catch the dummy at WSU, while the head continues on its merry way--the phenomenon Jacks mentions.

this is probably only 'approved' for an autoX.. BUT I have trouble staying in the seat of some (student) cars with only a 3 point factory belt....
So in addition to the factory 3 pt seatbelts and my R3 I strap a torso belt around myself and the seat back.
I'm guessing I'd get crushed or broken ribs in a crash, but would not get the basilar skull fracture.
