On the oval? BORING....

BTW... 130 mph... ha my little crappy no-hp-not a real Porsche will hit 115-120 going into turn 1. Ha... and that is from 40 mph exit of turn 9 on road course and going flat out around turns 3 & 4 on the oval.

Sounds like a cool event for those who can only dream.

Wow, lot's of closed minded jealousy here....I'd love to take lessons from her or any other professional race car driver. Put the male-female deal aside! I bet she would out run all of you on the track. Personally I'd also love to get some tips from Tony Kanan.

WRONG.

Danica is one of the best road racers around. Who says?

None other than Boris Said told me this to my face last year.

Only a fool would think they could learn nothing from her.

Sadly, the two people I would like to give me hands on instruction are no longer with us: Mark Donohue and Ayrton Senna. I guess I would 'settle' for the following to coach me:
- Vic Elford
- Hurley Haywood
- Ross Bentley

But then again, good drivers don't necessarily make good instructors. And I've had a lot of terrific instructors at PCA DE events - like Jupeman, Redlineman, Alan Herod, Al Pyatak, GeneH, Will DiGiovanni, John Groom, Roy Albertalli and tons of others. (Most of those names are unfamiliar, unless you're in the North East, of course, but a few post here...).

Just to clarify, I would not get much out of it for the fact I am not up to that level of experience/skill level to gain much. I am still working out the basics of driving. Not bashing her, in fact I would find her a bit distracting to learn.

I love her!!!!! I wouldn't mind going around the track slipping and sliding with her. Hmmmmmmmmm. I'll have to ask the wife if I can go.
Also, she hasn't won anything yet but she could drive circles around any of us!

That maybe true, but this event looks to be on the oval. Oval = boring. If they used the PIR roadcourse it would be much better event.

I could really use some pro tips at PIR. I would be exteremly happy to find 1 second in my spec car there!

Puhleez. Do you really think given the same car and support that any of us could really have lead the Indy 500 at any point in the race? She seems pretty sharp and is obviously pretty cute. Who wouldn't enjoy (I mean, really) said instruction. Have any of you(that have commented thus far) driven any professional races, much less won them?

I would attend if I won the trip as long as her husband is there. We could then BS about his 993 cab

I have worked with her in the Atlantic series. She is sharp and does have excellent car control. And she isnt the one who wants all of the attention that her gender brings.

I've learned some stuff from Ross Bentley. He's a good teacher and a good guy. This was going back about 15 years ago when my boss brought Bill Elliott up to Vancouver to show a few of us what it was like to drive fast around a track. Ross was at the Proformance Driving School at the time and also came out to the local racetrack to have fun with Bill.

Bill Elliott got to take each of us out for some hot laps around the track. Doing 140mph on the back straight in my boss' 944 Turbo with Bill at the wheel was a day I'll never forget.

BTW, this was "research" for making the videogame called "Bill Elliott's NASCAR Challenge". I like that kind of research.

For any of those that have attended PDE or heard Hurley's "Chalk Talk" Friday night at the Daytona PCA event, he is arguably the greatest American Porsche driver ever but not a great teacher.
