Default Are there any "experts" on SCCA ITS spec rules or PCA "I" class rules for 944s here?

I am finally getting around to seriously prepping my car, and I would like to speak with someone who really knows the rules well. Are any of you experts on either of these classes or do you know someone who is? I would like to talk to people off-line.

Thanks,

TD

P.S. I have read the rules . . . . but it seems like there is a lot of unwritten knowledge regarding both sets of rules.

TD - if you want local help on ITS - Eric Rupert is probably a good source. Shoot him a PM on the 44cup board.

Ivan/Chris at IMA are also wizards - talk to them while your car is there - they will answer just about everything you need.

TD,

For IT rules, ask your questions at improvedtouring.com.

Der Professor has an SCCA-SFI Technical Inspector certification, is a Steward, and spent years and years figuring out ways to get creative with the IT GCR....

What is it you want to know ?

Thanks Matt and Nader.

Prof. I will send you a pm. I have general strategic questions and the last time I asked questions about rules in public I learned that many different people have different opinions about what complies (in letter and spirit) and what doesn't, and I had people checking out my car telling me that I didn't comply (and they were flat out wrong to boot). So, I would rather ask questions freely off-line so that I avoid that mess. I will send you a pm later today or more likely tomorrow.

Too bad I can't ask over tequila, but maybe I can pay up later

I can tell you everything about SP1 rules. And SP1 is legal prep level for 944-cup.

That is the discussion that led me to start this thread here Specifically, in order to make wise decisions about the issues started in the 44Cup discussion, you need to have a good understanding of what exactly is allowed in both ITS and in PCA. Therein lies my questions . . . .

Thanks Dave. I planned to speak with you about a few questions as well.

And when u think u have a good understanding of what is legal, be sure to touch base with the particular club or sanctioning body that issues the rules before you spend any money.
