Hello All,
Well it looks like the gang and I are going to attempt a tranny swap on my 951. With everything else that can go wrong with Mike in Chi, Eric in Chi, Bill (don't know his RL name) and Gonzo, the last thing I want to worry about is the fluid.
I have a jug of Swepco that I bought for my Hey Fix Me Racing mascot and am wondering if that is okay for the 951. I have heard differing opinions here and elsewhere.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks,
Jeff

If it's a G50 transaxle, you want to use synthetic fluid. Swepco's the right choice for the 915 (which the 911 stopped using in 1986). I'm assuming you have the 5-speed G50/50.

Jeff - I used to run Swepco in my 944 NA transaxle, seemed to work just fine, but MAN would it stink when you took it out.
I've been running Mobil1 or Redline synthetics in my 968 transaxle, seems great and WAY too quiet. Not sure that helps as the 968 box is a G50 6-speed...
