Hungarian HP - Refreshing to see a fresh set of Podium finishers
Is it just me, or did everyone else enjoy seeing a fresh set of podium finishers today?
You know, its OK for the best teams to have bad days.
In this case, I'm glad it happened to both Alonso and Schumi because it keeps the fight close.
But I certainly enjoyed watching the race! Had its own interesting twist and turns to it!

New rules to make F1 more exciting:
1. Let technology run wild - no limits
2. Fastest drivers / cars start in the rear
3. Soak down every track before the race starts

Rain always makes for interesting races. It's just too bad Speed had such an awful race. You know, he is consistently better than his teammate Liuzzi, often better than Klein and usually finishes a significant number of places better than he starts. And now the rumor is he will be odd man out at Torro Rosso next year. Go figure.

Yes, that was awesome!!! And both my wife and I were yelling and screaming when Mikey flubbed the chicane the first time, yet still tried to hang on... what a schmuk... so happy to see him receive what he deserved in the end... well, at very least a warning black would've been appropriate...
Bummer to see so many other retirements, but it was great to see all 3 of those guys on the podium, they've all earned it...

Couple of thoughts on the race:
1. Schumi/Ferrari got greedy and made major strategic error. I bet he loses the WDC within the margin of those points to Alonso.
2. Kimi v. Alonso. I've always maintaned that while Kimi may have more raw pace than Alonso, give me the Spainard over the course of a season. He's more polished and is better at car and race management (i.e. not crashing into backmarkers or flatspotting tires and breaking the car).
3. Renault mechanic should be on that podium with Button for the centerlock incident.

Why did'nt Schumi go for the slicks when he had the 8 sec. lead and was in second, and it was obvious DeLaRosa was closing in at almost 2 sec a lap ?, great race overall , and i for one am glad Button finally got one. Kubica was impressive for his maiden debut, probably Jacques's chuckling hearing he was under weight.

It was a very exciting GP, I'd say it rated with the other two best telecasts this year; GrandAm from VIR and the Indy 500, IMHO one of the best races I've ever seen.
