Why can't I shake this mental image of Michael Schumacher doing his best "Dr. Evil" impersonation and saying......"One BILLION dollars".

I thought the $100M number was incredible when I first heard it, but this......

that' about what BMW lost on Rover. But its in line with BMW's dumb path - buy a constructor famous for its lack of success, buy a driver past his UBD.

"Unofficial News".... "could bring in over $1 billion dollars"..... let's see what happens first. Incredible if it actually materializes.

Michael Schumacher likes to win, and probably won't be swayed with a 1-billion dollar offer--he can't spend the billions he has now! If BMW offers him a car and staff superior to Ferrari's--I could see him pondering the deal. There's plenty of skill left in the old lion before he retires--so I wouldn't be so quick to count him out in any given race.

BMW ought to give the 200 mil to Chris Bangle to just go away.

According the German Gp broadcast today their is no truth to this story, both BMW and MS have denied it, MS saying, as he has always said, if he continues in F1 it will be with Ferrari.

Of course denying a story like this and then later having it be true is not out of the realm of possibility but it never made much sense to begin with.

If I were a team owner looking for an F1 driver, MS would be in my top three for near-term results (with FA and KR). Longer term, not so much, but in the 1 to 3 year range, I think he is right there with anyone.

I agree.

BMW is 6th in F1 points after today's race (17th and 19th place finishes).

I like M. Schumacher but I can't believe any team is willing to fork over that kind of money.
