What happened to Spencer ***? Someone said he won (?) the fun race but did not see him in the sprint race results. Looks like Dino Loles had an easy win up there, wonder why turnout was so low.

Yes, I incorrectly posted that it was Spencer (his name was on the result sheet, which apparently was incorrect).

It is a great race and worth the trip! With the newly paved extra paddock space (which was not open yet), there will be room to host even more racers in future years, too!

Well I do this again on the 4th or 5th lap. I go into T10 side by side with
a red 944 Turbo. He has plenty of room but exits to hot... He puts two
wheels off at the track out. and snap hooks the car. It comes across the road backwards, t-bones me in the drivers door, pushes me into the inside wall, which ricochets me across the track and spins me into the outside wall hard...

You did not seem to give the red car racing room in the last right hand turn, did you get a 13/13 or did he? Sorry about the accident, I know your pain much too well.

Seems like it was a small turnout compared to the Glen, Atlanta etc. I have never been to Mosport but I always imagined it was a big event like those two, but there were only a handful of GT3 cups as opposed to dozens at the Glen and Atlanta.

I did not get a 13/13. I am not sure if he did. I can understand your view point from the video but there seemed to be plenty of room. I was only close to him because I was following his arc, trying not to scrub speed. If he had tried to come in earlier I had room to move over.

If you like the Glen you would love Mosport for all the same reasons. It is much more laid back than WGI. Case in point. At lunch they were giving charity rides. Personally I think they were crazy, but for a minimum donation of 5.00 you could get 2 laps around the track. My Dad went as did another friend that was running in GTC1. The rides were at full speed, without helmets... Try that at the Glen and they would ban you for life.

That's Canada. I used to live in Montreal, and on Sundays I'd sneak my car down to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and just lap for awhile, at speed. Guys were doing it on Cafe Racers and all kinds of things. I figured if the cops came and gave me a ticket, it would still be worth it!

Charity rides at Mosport seem to be a bit of a tradition for the clubrace and different DE's I've done there. The rides are not supposed to be at "full speed" but are typically done at a brisk pace or slower, depending on the comfort level of the passenger. A few years ago, I gave a ride to one woman that was screaming/giggling as we left pit late so we drove around at something like 60mph The next ride was to a 10 year girl (track doctors daughter I think). She just kept making comments like "The last guy went way faster through that corner"

Results are up on mylaps. 2nd overall in my enduro group ...woo-hoo!

And congrats to Jeff Burger for defeating the mighty Ronnie Savenor. Charlie and I were watching and we could see Jeff in front, but in an enduro you are never sure what the standings are. Just shows you how good that GTC1 class is.

Does anyone have video of the first sprint race at Turn 3, around lap 12 after the restart?
A 944 spun in the middle of the turn and it looked quite chaotic.

Zedd.

Colin, watched your video, good lines around the track. See you at Daytona.
