Hi.
Does anyone have his or her race car insured for theft.
My car is not street legal, it does not really even have a title at this point. My insurance company says no.
I have no interest in the high cost of track insurance, but storing my car in the trailer at the storage facility or even at the track makes me sweat.
Thanks
Ed

Parish Heacock - Storage, Paddock and Transport insurance. Stated value.
I paid $1 / per thousand per year on a new (2003) racecar (not street legal - not title / real VIN)
Older cars are less - about $.75 per thousand. Think the cutoff might be 20 years? to be considered for this rate.
Feel much better when just about everything we own is hurdling down the road.... Or - when you lock it up and leave it for a few days somewhere.....

Naturally, due to the over-regulated nanny state I live in (MA, home of the Big Dig), we can't buy insurance from Parish Heacock.
From my regular auto insurer (AMICA), I buy collision and comprehensive for off-track risks, and Laurel for on track (my first year, but so far so good).
There ought to be an easier way to do this, but in MA, I haven't found one.
