[I have a friend at work who competed at this event. Part time pro-wanna-be. Seriously, he's a great guy and pretty well gounded. Has sponsors and does alot of events. I think he said he's racing or instructing 40 weekends this year!

I've asked him about fatalities in the past and he says they're surprisingly uncommon. Usually, people just put the bike down and slide until they run aout of momentum. Only issue is when they hit something which almost never happens. He tells about the time he was flying down the back straight at Road Atlanta and lost it (can't remember how). He slid for hunderds of yards and had to keep rotating as his leathers heated up from friction.]

It's always sad to hear about someone passing away in racing, so I thought I'd pass this on...
