At a shop I worked at a couple of years ago we looked into buying bulk, and if we bought 55 gallons at a time, we saved only .20 cents a quart. The price was still higher than Costco, one case at a time, but it was delivered, and convenient to be able to pump it in rather than pour out of quart bottles.

kurt m, to your point, I think we'll see a shift back to non-EP version of heavier weight M1. They may even drop having EP and non-EP versions of the product and go back to one variant. They've pushed the price envelop too far and most people would rather use non-EP for $1 less per quart. I know i would. I don't think the 5,000, 7,000, and 15,000 mile nonmenclature and strategy is working for Mobil either.

I know a lot of Porsche people have switched to Amsoil who used to use Mobil 1 and have enjoyed that product much better! One friend of mine who used Mobil 1 in her 993 was having it smoke on start up, but when she switched to Amsoil it went away! Just my $.02 I wanted to throw in!
