Default ALMS @ Lime Rock

Just a few of my 220 pictures. I have not edited or cropped or color corrected, etc., yet. But thought I'd start the flow of pics from today's race nonetheless.

The RS Spyders are cool!

Only the R8s (gas) were there, not the R10s (diesel). In fact, this was the very last race for the R8s.

Hey Jupe,

Nice shots. The RS Spyders were wicked loud---definitely the loudest on the track. Any pix of the Pirelli girls?

I though the BMWs were the loudest and most annoying. I rather liked the sound of the Spyders!

No Pirelli girls, Colin and I got there just a bit late, I think (that or we just weren't in the right place at the right time). Next year I'll make them a priority!

Don't get me wrong, the Spyders made an awesome sound---"wicked" in a good way.

I hate to admit it, but I thought the Vettes and Panoz sound the best

We definitely need to get there early next year and snap some picts of the Pirelli girls and their 38Ds

After watching the race , I quickly come to the following conclusion:

I really suck as a driver.

Very humbling experience, to say the least.

What makes you think that? The fact the R8 does 180mph down that straight and then brakes at the 2 marker?

Or was it those 45 second lap times?

I have to say though I wasn't sad to see the R8 get the overall win. We have enjoyed many years of great racing (before we had the Spyders to cheer for) and McNish is a super stud.

A great end of a great era.

I recognize the track, recognize the line, but could not believe the in car shots or the lap times (with the chicane) or the speeds thru Big Bend.

My favorite moment was a TV interview with a GT2 driver in a Cup car, holding down the mic button and talking to the announcers as he drove around Big Bend and thru to No Name.......just a casual conversation.

Of course, my kids favorite moment was my wife (who's never been driving with me and pretty much hates my cars) asking:

"So, which part of the track was it that you spun out on last year?"
My son immediately pointed out the Downhill and said "Right THERE".
