My dream is to bring F1 back where it belongs - the Glen.

That willl never happen for reasons noted above - not enough logistics to handle the megastars, entourage and fans.

I will buy Kimi a genny draft if he shows up at the Seneca lodge.

We are still the most voracious consumers of most everything on the planet and will be long after the poobah of Bahrain loses interest, therefore Bernie can't ignore us long term.

If the IRL and Champcar save each other by getting together and run more exciting road races ( and fewer 3/4 mile ovals) interest in Open wheel road racing could soar.

In my dream world, they also establish a formula that makes the competition more star oriented ( like Nascar) and less like an arms race between superpowers.

F1 could present high speed, excting races won by skillfull and daring drivers without cars which require $100Million bucks and 100 people just to get them out on th etrack.

If the IRL/Champ coalition anf F1 ran similiar formulae, we could have a helluva race in in the home country of Henry Ford.

my $2

F1 very nearly killed The Glen forever.

That is not the reason F1 will never return to The Glen. There is the matter of the millions still owed to FOM (or whatever it was called back in 1980). In short, it's a matter of money - like an Airbus full of money.

But you are right that the infrastructure to get into and out of The Glen is not there. In that respect it would have some of the same problems that Silverstone has (or at least had).

I don't think Kimi would even clean his drains with that swill.

It truly is amazing to go there and realize at one time the very best racers in the world used to stay there. Today's drivers are too pampered for that (and for Genny swill).

they are concentrating too much on making a good television spectacle. At the track experience suffers greatly from it. As Bernie does not make any direct money from spectators he does not care.
I just saw an article somewhere that Bernie wants to run a GP at Paul Ricard (which has ZERO bleachers - and coincidentally is owned by Mr. Ecclestone).

He wants to keep the paddock club and the other VIP functions ($$$) and just show the race on TV

I'll bring y'all some Shiner Bock.

At least Bud is an F1 sponsor. Wish they would promote Americans in F1 (as well as some of the other US companies).

Mine as well.

About a year after moving to Houston I found a little bar that had it on tap so I had to get some. The next day I remembered why I avoided it.

Some of the drivers then were "too good" for the Seneca. My wife & I saw Jacque Lafitte checking out of the Glen Motor Inn one Monday morning after the race.

Max Mosley has become worse than Jean-Marie Balestre ever was, and that's bloody hard to do.

Why is he trying to use the FIA as a car manufacturer?
Why does everything from F1 have to apply to a passenger vehicle? When I'm allowed to run 6 points in my passenger car (I feel safer in my Cup car than I do any of my passenger cars), then I can say racing technology has been applied to passenger cars.
Why the need for a 10kg hybrid power pack? Why, does Toyota want to put a Prius on the grid?
How about making F1 a fuel cell only or hybrid only or electric only or solar only motorsport series?
Doesn't he have any other series to go and mess up? Why can't NA$CAR hire this guy.....he'd be perfect.

Ironically, the car manufacturers are telling him what they want and he's telling them what car manufacturing wants from F1. He's a moron.

As for messing up another series, he just about single handedly killed international sports car racing. If you remember about 12 or so years ago, they forced sports cars to run 3.5 liter engines (F1 specs basically) and made the races 2 hour races. It was a joke and only in the past few years has "prototype" racing recovered. IMHO if it weren't for the wisdom of Don Panoz to create the ALMS and run basically to the ACO rules, sports car racing would not be as strong as it is. No thanks to Max.
