Default Zipper for Sparco Driving Suit

My "backup" driving suit has had a defective zipper for awhile now. I went to use it at CMP last month and it was just plain shot. Does anyone know of a good person/business to get in touch with to arrange getting it fixed - PROPERLY??

I'm not sure if it's a Nomex zipper or anything, but I'm sure it was sewn in with nomex thread, etc. so I want to git 'r' dun right.

I popped the zipper on my G-force suit one day, I called them the next day and they had me ship the defective one back and sent me a new one no charge.

Ship it to the manufacturer for repair or buy a new zipper and thread and have a local person replace it for you. I asked the shop I bought one from what to do and they had me send it to them and took care of it for $40.

The best guy on the planet for Sparco suits.

If you're in a pinch, any good tailor or seamstress can get, and install, a metal-toothed zipper the appropriate length. Lots of places to get Nomex thread...I know Pegasus carries it.

Thanks for the replies guys...I have thought of the "local seamstress" route, as a matter of fact I have one that sews on my patches, buttons that have popped off, etc. but am curious if the zippers are nomex or anything I might be concerned with.

As for the Nomex thread, YUP, will get some if I need to.

Truthfully, I would rather just send the suit into someone that is in the business so it's done right.

Guess I'll call Mid-Atlantic Trading and see what they say.

Thanks again guys.

***UPDATE***

If any of you need anything done to a suit, such as the zipper being replaced, alterations, patches sewn on PROPERLY (using nomex thread), etc.

Professor Helmut Tester steered me in the right direction, Rick at Mid-Atlantic referred me to who does their alterations, fixes, etc. - I just got off the phone with Gina, call her first for an RA#.

It's $49 to have the zipper replaced in my suit...not bad at all.

Call Gina at CV Products, they're in Thomasville, N.C. and I've dealt with them before, didn't realize they did this type stuff as well. (336) 472-2242

Thanks for steering me in the right direction, as always, Rennlist ROCKS!

My suit now has an ostomy so that my cool suit tubes exit via a triple layer of nomex at a position that's more convenient than the zipper or the pocket thanks to a local tailor.
