Default Caster Settings and the adjustment impacts

Typically the alignments setting for sedans in competition are to maximize caster to help improve straight line stability and increase negative camber for cornering. My question is for the 944 contingent on real life settings. Do you maximize caster with your spherical bearing set ups or are you limiting it to a prescribed degree? And what are those settings and how are they working?

Hey Jim;

On an NA, I don't think it matters much. In fact, not even for a garden variety Turbo. You just don't get going that fast (most places) to make the car squirelly from a lack of caster. Factory settings of 2.5 for early and 3-ish for late cars are fine.

Increased caster from there makes the steering noticeably slower. It increases steering effort, particularly on early cars and/or those converted to manual steering.
