We had to roll the fenders (the 'ol baseball bat trick) to prevent some minor rubbing.
Actually they are Hoosier RS.... AS is an autocross tire, i'm no cone crusher.
They are very strong, very light, and quite inexpensive at under $2000 per set of 4..

You know that that size is not legal in G stock, as you violate the 1" wider rule. They are legal if you move up to F as a prepared car.

Strange, as the person that speced them out is very involed in CVR racing and sets up a lot of cars for G. I'm a year away from clug racing anyway (at best), have to look into that!

Nothing to look into, Gary. SCs and Carreras came with a factory optional 7x15 and 8x15 wheel set. That limits the widths to 8 & 9 for a stock class (1" over) and 9 & 10 for prepared (2" over).

Larry, what I meant was I will have to look into why he had me buy illegal wheels for G-Stock... which of course leads me to believe it is MY mistake..

Just went and looked at the wheels, they ARE 18x8 and 18x9... chalk it up to old age...

Thanks for the information.

Gotcha! It makes more sense that they are 8s & 9s, because when I ran them on my Carrera, I had only about 1/4 " between the front wheel lips and the inner strut housings. Same with the rear trailing arm nuts. Not sure how you could fit wider wheels without flaring the fenders.

And I DID have to hammer the rear fenders out to clear the 275 Hoosier's under full compression. I didn't add any flares, just "flared" the existing sheet metal.

Theoretically, this is not legal. You cannot change the contour of the bodywork to achieve tire fit. You can roll or grind the edges of the wheel arch.

That said, alot of the top G cars are running 245/275 tires, so I doubt anybody would actually challenge that unless it is really really out of line.

That is the message I got about it also. Actually the info I got was that no one cares WHAT you do until you are beating them...

So true. The trick is not to beat them by much.

For the most part only podium cars get scruts looking at them.

Installing 1 /34" headers on a 3.2 (especially in a mild state of tune) simply kills the low & mid-range without any benefits on top. Use 1 5/8" headers for effect.

The 1 3/4" ones are best suited for 3.5' and 3.6's.

Good to know Steve. I don't have a 3.2 anymore, but I don't want to lead anyone wrong.
