In the first 20 seconds you can catch a glimpse of Bill's car up and to the right at the same start at the Glen that he showed in his clip:

Glen Race video

And here's the pack after Turn 1. Someone in that picture is feeling a bit wing-challenged...

Nice action stuff, but too hard to follow any sequences. Looked like you could stay with the silver GT3 down the straight though. WTF? Yeah, please get a Euro Cup Car, please?

My car pre-headers is just a tad slower than a GT3 in a straight line. That was evident at Road America. See this video, where you'll also see me compared to a C prepped RSA, as well. I'm hoping my headers will help cure some of the lag that I experience in the slower turns which hurts me vs. you damn lightweight N/A cars...

Road America Enduro start

(btw, starting at about the 3:10 mark you can see the comparative speed to a GT3)

Bill,
If you still fondly remember your first wife then you need to do what I did. Put another wife between your first and current. Trust me you won't remember the first anymore. Of course having an X and an XX precludes cup cars for 99% of us.

Bill,
Why was it a mistake to sell ? I think about selling one of my cars frequently and especially the race car with all the cost, down time and the 13/...hanging over my head.
Thanks,
Gregg

Gregg,

I raced my 993 for 60 starts. SCCA, PCA, NASA, HSR & SVRA. 3 mechanicals and 2.5 crashes. 2 group wins mid teens class wins and 60 fond memories. OK thats what I sold. I bought a car that has had a black cloud hanging over it its whole life and its never been in a race. I finally got to drive it for 3 hours on a very cold race track and I love the car. My "sweet deal" has tuned into a financial blunder but thats racing I guess. I hope to have a lot of fun events in this car as well. So I miss the simplicity of racing my old 993. I feel like I bought something very exotic but I will get it figured out. Throw enough $ at it and it will perform.
The 13 does not end your racing. We all learn from our contacts and move on. Also its good to have several log books if PCA is no longer an option.
Personally I enjoy HSR and SVRA more than PCA. SVRA does not accept wet cups but HSR accepts up to 2001.

Glen,
I thought I was the only one going thru the black cloud thing. The 13/ has not helped. I thought you got the deal of the century when you bought that blue car.
Thanks,
Gregg
