Hi Bill, I had a rear lower go on me at 240 kmh two years ago, there wasn't much of the rear suspension left on that side of the car by the time I got it stopped. I know that Dave Klym at Fabcar has redesigned the taper bolt a couple of times to try and cure it with the Fabcar arms, and I haven't had any trouble since using the new ones. Overtorquing is one thing that can cause it, but they also weaken quickly if you whack the turtles too often. BTW, Fabcar arms say Fabcar on them in really big letters, so if that's not on yours, then you have something else.

And I had a friend run a whole 20 minute session without the power steering turned on, he said he liked that firm feel to the steering

So I'm clear, the part in question is the "wishbone" part #18 below? And part #19 if overtorqued can cause the failure? I believe the torque spec for that nut is 75-Nm, sound correct? Thanks.
