44 Cup in the Northeast
NASA is expanding into the Northeast in 2006 and there are 6 rounds of the 44 Cup scheduled.
Rd 1
May 5 Pocono South (1 race) (NASA)(Comp School)
May 6 Pocono East (1 race) (NASA)
May 7 Pocono South (1 race)(EMRA)
Rd 2
May 8-9 Watkins Glen (NASA) (2 races)
Rd 3
June 3-4 BeaveRun (3 races)(EMRA)
Rd 4
July 1-2 Mosport (3 races) (CASC)
Rd 5
August 4-5 Lime Rock (2 races) (NASA)
Rd 6
Aug 19 Pocono Long Course(1 hour enduro only) (EMRA)
Aug 20 Pocono Long Course (1 sprint race) (NASA)
National Runoffs: September 15-16-17 @ Mid Ohio
My car is seriously outclassed in SCCA ITE and I need to make some decision in terms of preparation pretty quickly. I've heard great thing from people running the 44 cup in the Atlantic region. Are any 944/951 rennlisters plan to be joining the 44 cup in the Northeast this year?

Three Wheelin'
Hey Tony,
We have 4 racing 944/924S's locally, and bunches within a couple hunderd miles, who would a person contact about starting 944Cup?
The northeast is a little far for us to travel, though I do plan on doing one or two.

Bill,
The man that you should talk to is our series director, Dave Derecola. Dave created the 944Cup, and has been instrumental in setting up several regions now. Aside from Mid Atlantic, Cup chapters are now running in the South East [Georgia and the Carolinas], the SunCoast [Florida] and NorthEast [NY etc].

Spectators are welcome - no admission. Some racers have a tendency to beg, but a few hundred usually makes them happy.
Visitors have full access to the paddock and garage areas. Like most amateur racing, the drivers are enthusiasts and most are happy to show you around their cars if they are not thrashing to fix something before quali or the race.
Only exception to the spectator admission is Watkins Glen, where anyone other than drivers must be listed proir to the event to get into the track.
