I have seen 265's on the front of a 996 C2 , 2002. Also on a pro racing C class 99, 996 bought to run in PCA(just wrong). Both cars seems to handle great and I know both drivers are winning races with this set up. IM Darren for more info on what has worked on his 996. I think he has tried every tire combo, but settled on 265's up front. As far as temps. I did help him run temp/tire pressure readings with a pyrometer and did not see a huge disparity front to rear, but I will say on a hot DE session I was able to pull on him and check out early on the warm up laps running Hoosiers on my 993.
