NASA:
944 Cup Awesome. Points. DD runs the best show: Gotta love it.
Stock car classes: Cool, like Busch series. GT classes with Porsches: Fine.
Legends, BMWs and Hondas: Awful.
Stay in classes with Porsches and beware of others.
Damage in 2 weekends: Punted off track first practice by an open cockpit car (minor). Clobbered off the race podium, 3 turns from checker, by a Honda re-entering at high speed. (I made mistake of letting this "faster class" idiot by, and he still couldn't stay on track.) $4000+ of damage and injured hand.
PLUS: My parked street car hit in the paddock by a trailer in a hurry to leave. He did not even notice. Another $800 damage.

esscape26,
It is hard to decide how much organization and regulation is enough for these track events. If you haven't been a victim you might think there are too many rules . On the other hand if you had an incident because the driver or car wasn't prepared properly, you want more regulation and enforcement.
Sorry to hear about your bad experiences. The paddock can be a bigger hazard than the track (wind blowing awnings/tents on to your things, people/children not alert when walking about, golf cart racing, etc.)
