Does anyone know if Recaro Pole Position racing seats can be easily re-covered? Could I change, say, colors, or go from velour to leather? Or do I need to replace the entire seat?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

A good upholstery shop should be able to do it, but that might not be the most cost-effective way.
It might make more sense to sell the seats you've got, and buy a new set with the fabric or leather you're looking for. It used to be that Recaro wouldn't do them in leather, but that's changed in the last few years. When I got my Pole Positions, I had to get them from FVD in Germany. Back then, they were $1500 each. Nowadays, I think you can get leather-covered Recaros for significantly less than that.

Note: the goofy armrests are for long drives to tracks. They pop out the rest of the time.

Thank you very much for your reply, Jack. I appreciate it.
I think you're right: having them re-trimmed probably wouldn't be cost effective. I was hoping to simply slip on some new covers. If that's not possible, I'll sell the existing ones and buy ones in leather.
They look absolutely gorgeous in your car!
