A Little Prayer for the Big Turtle
Mike Faem’s, aka Big Turtle, and the founder of the HWFMR team’s father passed away this afternoon. As some of you know, Mike and his wife Nancy were spitting time between Chicago and Jackson Hole Wyoming. Mike was on his way to meet Nancy in Wyoming when he got the news of his father’s passing.
The Faem’s are a pretty big clan here in Illinois and they were all able to spend a good deal of time together this holiday season. While Mike’s dad’s health had been failing, no one expected his passing so soon. Mike’s mother was with him when he passed and all was calm. She is doing better than the family expected and for all this, we are thankful.
Those of you that know Mike know of his terrific wit, generous nature and kind spirit. While I didn’t know his dad, all of Mike’s gallantry came from somewhere, so I’m sure that I would share the same respect for his dad as I do for Mike.
Thoughts and Prayers to Mike and family….may your father rest in eternal peace.

Your words here and on the 993 board are very touching and comforting, and help more than you will ever know.
I wish we could all meet in reality at this moment, and not just cyberspace. I'd like to thank each of you personally.
My father was nearly 91, and had a good long life. Recently he'd had a series of strokes that diminished his quality of life with each episode.
Yesterday he passed quietly. As Jeff noted, my mother was with him. That was a blessing for both of them.
My dad got a big kick out of my racing, and the exploits of the turtles.
So thank you as well, my friends, for bringing a little laughter into his last years.

Mike,
We really hope that you and your family find peace and comfort at this time. We also hope and pray that the memories of your father warm your spirit and soul today and going forward.
