Default Recaro SPG or Pole Position with Hans

I am just about sure that I want the Pole Positions in my 964, however, I have some last lingering questions. I would probably get the Schroth 2"/3" 6pts and DAS Bar with whatever I get. This car is street/DE/TT car, so these two seats fit my requirements.

1) will Pole Positions prevent me from HANS usage later?
2) what brackets to get so my 6'2" frame can fit w/ helmet on?
3) will going to a SPG help with HANS?

Anyone have any experiences with these exact configs?

thx!

I can tell you only about the brackets - either Brey Krausse or OMP on the picture
The OMP are the lowest you can get on the market Maybe the cheapest also
Dont ask me how I know.....

I'm 6'2, and found the Pole Positions wouldn't allow me to use my HANS, as the shoulder strap holes are below the the tops of my shoulders, hence below what HANS recommends. It's a shame, because otherwise they fit my bod well.

I have PP's in my car if you want to come across the bay some time for a trial fit. I have no problems with HANS fitment, but I'm a little guy at 5'8". You need a pretty slim build to fit into a SPG.

I had to get a Profi-SPG XL to get the correct belt hole height and I really like it.

are you sure it's called "Profi-SPG XL"? recaro is terrible with model names.
i have profi-spg pole position XL hans"... basically, it's width is that of a normal pole position, but the thigh and torso bolsters are like a SPG pole position, the harness holes are significantly larger than normal recaros.

I'm looking into getting the RaceTech 4009 WHRV. Maybe its an option for you too. It says its HANS compatible and the holes look to be positioned high enough. Plus the W model is wider that normal so its good for my expanded waist. Anyone has any experience in this? I would choose the Recaro SPG but I dont see how my butt would fit in that.

thanks guys. I think there might be some hope because I have a shorter torso and longer legs. Tom, thanks for the offer.. I might have a contact closer, I will see.

Tom and Bill- what rails/slider configuration did you go with?

i agree with the previous comments.

i'm 6'3" and using Recaro SPG XL with Hans since Pole Position is not well suited for harnesses with Hans. I put a Pole Position in the passengers position and also think it's a great seat.

the Corbeau shown previously or the recaro spg XL or the Sparco 2000 should all work well for a tall guy with hans. I'm a little wide and recaro fits well, corbeau i think slightly narrower and sparco narrowest.

I think the Pole Position is a great combo street/track seat. I've used them for the last few years. I am 6'2" and with the Recaro sliders had no headroom issues on the track (though the seat is raked back pretty well.)
That said, these seats do not work well with a HANS device. As Bill mentioned, the belt holes are too low on the shoulder and the setup becomes much less than optimal.
Even with a shorter torso, I'd guess the belt holes will still be well below your shoulders. I would definitely sit in a few seats before buying. If you like the Recaros I know there are some I have sat in that will work for your size and with a HANS.

Good luck!

"this is what i have in my car: recaro hans profi spg pole position XL

it's ad wide as pole position. very few dealers actually aware of this seat.

it doens't have the elephant ears like profi spg hans so you can use it on streets without blocking your view"
