The next version of Datalink will incorporate some changes discussed at PRI, including position data [so we can draw track maps] and lap beacon markers. Not sure when they will release the revised Datalink version, but they were talking fairly quickly. If you buy the G2X now you will be able to download the revised Datalink when it is released.
