I’m very doubtful that a G-Stock can run 1 minute at Lime Rock. I just don’t recall a G stock SC ever running a minute in any of the club races. But I could be wrong and I would like to see someone do it.

Jim lewis holds the record in a G sc 1,01.4, Doubt that 1,01 will be broken in a G stock SC
Other records I know of 1,00.8 for a f Stock Carrera, 59.95 for D 964 cup. 58.7 for GTC 1

If you don't know the full specs on Jim's car, then it's really difficult to know what it's capable of. It's basically a 993tt that has been stripped and has a full race. It's probably 450hp and 2400lbs. It might be a 56.9 car with a very good driver. He's also running Hoosiers not slicks. IMHO there is absolutely no way it's a "low 50s" car. The best time in this years ALMS GT2 was 54.7 by a GT3 RSR (during the race). Third place in GT2 ran a best of 55.7. Now this is with the chicane, so that does add in a bit of time...maybe a full second? The PCA Club Race record is 56.1, held jointly by Rick Demann in GT1R and Keith Peare in a GT4R car (though he classed himself up to run in GT2 to be able to run with the big boys).

To be perfectly honest I don't know either, just remember Dan Jacobs telling me oof another G car that was in his shop and saying it runs around 1 minute at LRP and it was very similar to mine. The slower the best G-Stock times are the better for me because i'm that much closr to them!!!

Yeah colin Both Jeff B and I have run those time in a F Stock Carrera. We spent the next 2 years tring to faster and were only able to match those times with everything just right. Ron ran 100.02 in an E carrera with short gears. Jim C is a great guy just getting started. He will need to constantly push himself to approach the limit of his car. Most drivers do not.

Again, I beleive the 46 seconds was with the chicaine[/QUOTE]

I heard from the Skip Barber guys that 43 was the track record including the chicane where speeds are around 35mph.

Well there you have it. I believe the Skippy guys would know. How did you like the school? I have that on my list of things to do in the near future!

OK, seems we agree that this car can do way better then 1:06.
I have to disagree on the chicane only slowing by 1 sec. I would say it's closer to 3 at least. I take it you've driven LRP a bunch. Have you ever done the chicane? It's no Glen bus stop..

Agree with you there! I'm in 4th gear over 4500 RPM over the top of that hill and if I had to hit that chicane I would lose a LOT of time (my car is low powered though) and certainly be down a gear into West Bend.. I can't imagine having to drive it, it's just been a blur in my peripheral vision until now!

Skippy was great for a newbie like me. I took the two day driving school and had the time of my life. Learned threshold breaking, heel toe, load transfer and contact patch mangement, skidpad time for slide casuses and corrections, driving the line, etc. I highly recommend it for anyone before starting DE. The highlight was driving the Viper around the autocross course. That car points out faults in a hurry.

I think the chicane's impact would actually be relative to the car speed. In a lower power car, I can see 3 seconds easy (heck in my old 2.0L 914, I could barely get up the damn hill at full power!). In a high hp car, I would think it matters a little less, as you can't really be full power up the whole hill and over the crest anyway. But I haven't driven the chicane, so I am just guessing.

38D,
I have a 914 2.0 as well and I agree with you about the hill. I can hardly make it up the hill as well. I don't even brake going up it!!! Gotta love under powered cars though, they make you work!

I feel your pain, my 912 is a 1720cc and simply maintains speed up the hill (no acceleration going on). I too am in 4th @ approx 4500rpm and for what it's worth I have turned a 1:14 and change in this car.

Yeah, but you kick butt in that little 912, Peter. Thanks for the great video and the pass of the orange early 911.....
