Default SCCA GT2 allows unlimited wheel diameter

The latest fastrack apporved unlimted diameter for SCCA GT2

This has eliminated most of the rules preventing PCA cars from running in SCCA.

up to 3.8 for 911s
up to 3.4 for 914s

Reduced weight for the 911s

Cup cars allowed

The only thing that would make most PCA GT cars illegal is the rear wings.

Not that hard to remove though.

Jim Goughary finished 3rd in GT2 at the runoffs this year and was behind me in the three NE Natl races. He claims my 18" tires work a lot better than his, at the Glen I was just digging in with no sliding while he was behind me sliding all around on his 16" goodyears (I use Michelins). He thinks he will be faster on the 18s (I hope not!).

p.s. anyone need a new set of michelin slicks? I had 6 sets at the runoffs and one set was never used. I have 2-3 sets with 1 or 2 heat cycles, plenty of tires for me so would like to sell the unused set.

Dave,
Does this rule change mean that there is no longer a 50 lb weight penalty for 911's running 18" wheels?
