Food at Sebring
For all you folks who frequent Sebring, I want to let you in on a sort of secret eating spot. It is the Runway Diner. It is located at the Sebring Airport which is right next to the track. If you take a right when leaving the track it will be on the left about 1/4 mile. Michael and his wife will open at 6:30 for breakfast and stay open until after dinner. The reason we are trying to help them out is we want them to succeed. They are struggling right now and they need our support. It is an oasis on hot days for lunch and the food is great.
Please help them stay in business. We need air conditioned choices for lunch.

Ditto that - they have good food and it's great to take a break in the A/C.
If there's a caveat emptor in this - its been my experience that they can get behind when a big crowd of hungry lug-nuts comes through the door all at once. If you plan accordingly, it shouldn't be a big deal.
P.S. Mitch - you going back to Sebring this weekend w/ PBOC?

Group 44 was a very successful race team in 60s thru 80s Ran jauguars and British Leyland cars
Up to IMSA GTP Jags
Headed by Bob Tullius, who also collected warbirds
Their hangar was west of the old terminal and restaurant
Great collection of airplanes and race cars.

I've always wondered about that place and now I know. COOL!! Also, always good to hear that we can make a difference whenever possible. Besides, I am sick of those damn guys in the trailer who charge $7.50 for a burger!! Can't wait to hit the Runway Cafe. Last one there is a Rotten Egg! Ready....GO!

Mike, I'm glad you cleared up the other "secret" spot for me. I have to say I was going crazy asking my buddies trying to find out where it was. Since Sebring is my "home" track, I don't like not knowing where all the good food is!
Should be a great weekend coming up! Who's in?

The Runway Diner, eh? Well, I agree totally with Mitch. I've been going to Sebring for more than 10 years and it does have good food, reasonable prices, and is convenient. The staff tend to be efficient and helpful. Michael and his wife and their staff try hard and it shows!
