I always stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington, MA (about 30 minutes from the track), and they just built a new Comfort Inn about 100 yards down the road. Great trailer parking across the street at the Brewery.

I reserve my room online (usually ends up at around $90/night), get email confirmation and have never had any issues or problems regarding changes in reservations/cancellations.

It's usually around $90/night, + taxes, etc. I've got one of their 'frequent flyer cards' or equivalent...I've got so many I can't keep them straight which also helps a bit.
It's a typical new Holiday Inn Express with all the amenities, easy drive to the track in the AM, not very far from the MA Pike, Exit 2; so it's always worked out well.

Tom--THe newer owners at the sharon are foul and nasty---they lied to many metro members about the negotiated rate set up by steve F. But for the location, this has become one useless fleabag---Heck, I told him so when he tried to tell me that the negotiated rate was $150.

But the real question is, how was the saturday birthday party? (snickering)

Marc,
gymboree was a blast. arent you sorry. You came up last night when ronnie (mrs) mentioned that we know each other.

If i end up having to pay for the room I am going to pressure the powers that be at metro to take that hotel off the list. I will contact the hotels in gt barrington (a friend has a house in otis, down the road) and the surrounding areas. i spent many a weekend in that area and will drive the extra 20 minutes if necessary.

Z,
Yep two people of indian (or Paki but I wont dare say both in the same sentance) descent were nasty to me on the phone.

This will offend someone, I'm sure. Tough ****.

Beware the Hindu Hilton.

Stay in Gt. Barrington, or at the Willows. I always expect to meet Norman Bates at the Willows, but he hasn't shown up yet.
