Default PFC 97 part # for 993/S4 caliper

I've recently added the 993/S4 front front caliper to my 87 911 and I want to get some PFC 97 compound pads but I'm a little confused as to the part # to get. Basically PFC lists the pads by type and year of car (i.e. 88 928), but since my car is an 87 911, and I don't know if these calipers were standard or optional equiptment on the 993 and S4, I want to make sure I order the correct pad.

So far, I've come up with two part numbers and I think will fit, 0447.97.16 and 7700.97.18, but the later is half the price of the former for the same compound.

So, question is, do both of these fit, and if they do, why is the 7700 half the price of the 0447?

Also, anyone know where I can get these? I contacted OG Racing, but their international shipping policy (I'm in Canada) makes it inconvenient.

0447 pads are the pads used on the 964 turbo 3.3 which uses an S4 caliper, so the 0447 is the pad you'd want. I am sure that's the pad you want, but check the measurements below to be sure... plus I don't see a 7700 pad type...

I get my PFC 97's from HRP World - they have a good price, and no tax for me in Cali. Here's the link:

If you don't use the pad wear indicators, you want to get 7700.97's, which fit 993 S4's and do not allow for brake pad wear indicators. They are significantly less expensive. The last set I bought were 7700.97.16.44, which were around $175 versus another mm of material and brake pad wear indicator cutouts for around $260 in the 0447.97's.

Yikes! I just checked out the link posted above, and they want $282 for 0447.97's!

Thanks Bill. I don't use the wear indicators so I'll go with the 7700.97's.

I run the same as Bill. 7700's up front. The only difference is the pad wear notch. OG Racing is the source for these. There was another source, Racers Wholesale I believe. They were actually a couple of $$ cheaper but the guy I talked to was a real axxhole when I talked to him about the 7700's vs. the others. I went with OG.

I had first contacted OG Racing about these, but, I'm in Canada and unfortunatly their international orders policy is a bit of pain.
