German Grand Prix on CBS....

It was pretty bad on the last couple of laps when there wasn't any real drama left, but the announcer sounded like he was calling a horse race. My wife even commented on how bad the announcing was.

As bad as the coverage was, I think it was better than the last race they covered - now THAT was bad!!! Bill Adams is usually pretty decent covering sports cars, but he needs to brush up on his F1 knowledge. Also, I forget who the other commentator was (he runs the Champion team), but he was pretty dry & boring: no enthusiasm for calling the race.

It was pitiful. The questions was asked, "What do you tell Alonso to do to catch up to Kimi?" when Alonso was running .3 seconds per lap slower. Duh...I suppose you just tell him to drive faster, like Alonso doesn't earn his pay squeezing the max out of the car.
For once, I was able to get up early to watch the race live. But, OH CRAP, it's a CBS race and it was delayed until 12:00 PM. TO add insult to injury, I have to watch F1 for dummies. I could have done a better job announcing that race.

I liked Alonso's answer in the pre-race interview, "What do you have to do to win this race?" His answer, "Pass two cars".
Not to nitpick. I believe Adam referred to the Red Bull Sauber. I suppose that might have been had Villenueve locked bumpers with Couthard. I think Jacque went through two expensive nose cones on Sunday. I'd hate to think what they cost.
While the announcers were just okay, they should have had someone with more current F1 knowledge. The Speed Channel guys are good. I wonder how LIggett and Sherman would have done?

I taped it watched it last night. OMFG... that coverage SUCKED!!....
If was not an F1 and watched that I would never watch it again. Really they tried, but Bill Adam know squat about F1 and the other guy may know alot about sports cars, but is not a good talker over the phone. At least the Speed guys know something about F1.
