Default Need help with rusted downpipe bolts - Audi A4 Turbo

Hey guys,

Sorry this isn't for the porsche, but I am helping my brother put on a new Neuspeed exhaust on his A4 with the 1.8T and am having a bastard of a time getting the rusted downpipe bolts out. The biggest problem is that rust on the bolt heads makes it so I can't get the 11 mm socket all the way on and consequenty can't get a good bite. Anyone have any suggestions? My brother is on his way to Sears to get a set of the Bolt Out sockets with the fluted teeth.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Try hammering the socket on if possible. it may clear the rust
I recently did the same with my wife's A4 after the cat seperated from the mounting flange at the turbo outlet, Fun Fun Fun

I hope it helps
