VIR and Roebling driving tips
I just signed up for a 3 day event at VIR long (Aug 12-13-14) and PCA DE at Roebling rd (Aug 21-21) .
I have not been to either track and I would love to hear from you guys about your driving recommendations.
I have been watching Bill Walczak VIR videos over and over to familiarize with the layout....
I am going to take it easy (at least at the beginning) as the car will be completely new to me ( new engine, suspensions, brakes, gearbox, tires and setup) but it would be nice if you could share your tricks..
Thanks again and see you at the track.

I have some videos on my web site you can watch. Aren't as fun as Bill's I'd assume, but still will show you the general line of the course, etc.
Watch the one dated 11/9/2004 "Lap on new engine"

Hey Brian, how about your other tip for VIR...don't select 2nd when you wanted 4th. BTW, how's the motor running?

Don't live in the past so much buddy. The future is bright. (be alot brighter without the liberals)
Motor is running good. I have a boost leak I can't seem to find so I'm not getting full power. Engine is coming out again though in next weekend or so because my 3rd gear synchro is just completely gone.
I did about 250 miles at VIR at the Tracquest event, and I did about 350 or so at the Viper Days event this weekend.

One quick Roebling tip: If you start to go off in turn 9, don't try to correct it, go into the acres of grassy runoff area. A proven fact: If you try to correct in turn 9 coming onto the front straight, you will hit the wall.
See you at Roebling!!

Yep.. Just got the confirm from Chris... I will be in the White group to start... which I think makes perfect sense as I have never been there before.
Will it be hot? Just taken AC off (you know to lose any possible weight) and I am not looking fwd to the drive from Charlotte...
