DE Insurance - this looks good!
A guy told me about this place at the WG DE, very reasonable prices IMO. I tried the guys in Pano.. they are on drugs.

I use them too. No complaints but also no claims.
I also tried the ones in Pano (Leyland West I think but don't quote me) and their quote was outrageous. Something like 2500 per year.

Not available in MA last time I checked.
Laurel DE, is however available, perhaps due to the Canadian address?
I know several people who use Laurel DE and are very happy.

I have looked at my policy(Liberty Mutual) and it makes no mention of excluding DE's...but then again it doesn't explicitly say it is covered. As long as it's not a timed event, I think most standard policies would ultimatley have to pay. They won't be happy about it and will probably try to get off on renewal if it's a significant claim though...

I know guys who bought 20-30 days/year. They said one of the people in the company was affiliated with PCA a while back, or something like that.
What did americancollectors insurance quote you, if you don't mind me asking?

regarding the american collectors, they have a fairly high deductable like 10 or 20% as I recall and the premium was around $1500 to $2000 a year. I figured after driving my car on the track for the past 7 years I saved about $14,000. If I have an accident, then I need to pay the piper.
As they say, if you are not prepared to loose your car then don't enter the track!

I agree 100% about the major carrier's not covering you. I have a good relationship with my agent (Safeco) and he flat out told me that while the policy doesn't specifically mention "DE type" events that it will be an uphill battle to get compensated, and at BEST I will get dropped. My SC will cost $375 per YEAR with $25K (means I would get $20K in a total) coverage. Simply state your value as 20% over and forget about it. Not sure what you 993 is worth, but $100K of coverage is $1500 per year.. must be SOME car! I could have insured my 997S for $120K for $1800 per year, unlimited events...
I'm even covering my trailer for loss as its only about $175 extra per year ($1K deductable). In CT the vehicle pulling the trailer is liable so std. liability is already covered..

TroyN - American's site says that DE insurance is based on 1.5% of the agreed value of the car, and good for the calendar year. For a 35k 911 that's $525 - not bad at all, assuming they pay out. Unfortunately for me they don't write insurance in VA.
Kary - you're probably right about DEs but liberty mutual was good to me when I totalled my 993, albeit on the street. I was on double secret probation for 3 years after the accident but as it was my first claim it didn't affect my rates (I picked the right first claim, I guess).

BTW, auto mobile training for their employees is simple......
SELLING? = Always say yes first
Claims? = Always say NO first
The reality has nothing to do with either!
