It probably would have been cheaper for me to quench your thirst for Sierra Nevada vs. your car's thirst for 15W-50!

For right now, I'm driving to the track w/ my MPSCs. One of these days when I can talk my wife into a truck, I will start trailering.

Sjanes, What kind of setup is that? Does it go through the bumper? How much does the hich weigh? Do you leave it on on the track?

So many questions! How about some pictures while we are at it!

If fact, I just found this guy's advert there this morning: http://www.sstrailers.com/

I don't know anything about his work myself.

That looks like a good alternative for those who wish to tow with their track car. A few more specs would be needed before I would buy this trailer, but it looks right.

I have seen some guys at the Porsche Club events tow there tires... with a GT3...alot quicker and easier to do than a car trailer.... cheaper than getting a tow vehicle and auto trailer.

If you're at the NNJR event this w/e at Mosport, you'll see a couple of GT3's with trailer hitches and small trailers for tires and tools. Unfortunately, I left it too late to register, so wont' be there myself.

this year so far I have been driving on my MPSC's but I can usually get a friend to carry them on his trailer, we always go to the same events.
It has been nice not having to change them this year. e

Are there maximum speed limits for these types of utility trailers? Just wondering if I get one and I can't go over 55 mph with it then rats....... It's going to take longer to get to the track!

Alpine: I've been up to around 70, 75 with my trailer, if speed limits allow.

The trick is to maintain the trailer - especially the wheel bearings.

I just installed larger "highway rated" tires and tow comfortably at 75-80mph on the 401 when I go to Mosport. My drive to LCMT is on back roads, so I'm typically doing 55 or under.

I imagine any speed limitation may be due to the type of tire, like some spares in cars that you are not supposed to go over a certain speed limit with.

I believe California is the only state with lower speed limits (55) for any vehicle with a trailer. It's why we resort to roof racks.

My track is about 35 minutes away, so I drive on them. If I have events or track time frequently, I just leave the R tires on between outings. It sure saves a lot of swapping tires around. The car is getting driven less and less on the street all the time.

It makes the 914 smaller then it already is, but you can put one tire in the front trunk, one in the back and two on the passenger seat in trash bags! then still have enough room for tools, parts and the most important of all the BEER COOLER!!!!!! Clothes are overrated! 1 pair for the weekend!
