Post Hand washing enclosed trailer

Does anyone actually hand wash your trailer (or is this my excuse to buy a power washer!) It's looking pretty dirt and bug covered lately.

Also, any suggestions for easy application waxes/sealers?

I had a standard white enclosed and I used house siding cleaner to clean it after it got real bad. The cleaner worked great when I put it on with a RV wash broom. I waxed it with an inexpensive one step wax and that helped to keep it clean.

The pressure washer will not do the job without scrubbing - The RV brush works great though. Here I have to deal with calcified water as well - those Costco microfiber towels work for that problem. I never thought of waxing the trailer but it should work okay, especially on the front and rear that seem to get dirtiest.

Just bought that Mr Clean Car wash system that is suppose to dry spot free without hand drying. I have a black trailer so we will see, was gonna do this w/e but its gonna rain. Still gotta get the brush and pole out though.

Absolutely no substitute for a careful had wash. The real question on exterior cosmetics is how do you want it to look? If it is stored outside it will take a lot to keep it looking top notch.

I power wash mine, but it doesn't completely do the job. Hand rubbing would defiitely get it cleaner, though the pressure washer does an ok job. I would like to wax my trailer but it would take some time that I haven't found yet.

Thanks everyone.

I went to my local Ace Hardware store and bought a 'water thru the handle aluminum telescoping RV wash brush'. Looks like a nice piece.

The trailer does live outside in the driveway, but as a concession to my bride, I did order it with maroon exterior screwless aluminum (to sort of match the color of the garage/house), so having it look fairly decent is an issue.
(of course she sent me out to buy a trailer for my son's new kart last year and I came back with a 20' aluminum enclosed! That IS the size necessary for a go kart right?!)

I'm definitely not considering entering my trailer in a Concours competition, just a good bath should do the trick.
As for wax, I'm thinking liquid and/or spray on.....cross that bridge when I get to it.

Detail shop. I have them wax it twice a year, and the rest of the time it's easier to clean.

We painted my trailer to match my new F250 PSD last Spring...so the dark metallic gray demands to be cleaned up good for any "racetrip" - that's fer sure!

Generally, I wash it by hand, sometimes use the RV brush but I'm pretty tall and can reach the top of the roof molding with a chenille hand-washer "glove". I use the Turtle Wax brand carwash shampoo from Walmart and wax my trailer with Rejex about every 4 months or so...works GREAT to keep the bugs off and shines like hell.

My trailer is black and the sun /weather has taken its toll. Very dull, streaky and dirty. Yesterday I hand washed it and waxed it with RV & boat wax using a polishing wheel. Trailer came out looking very good to almost as new.

Tried the Mr. Clean system on my Black 996. It really works. No spots. Amazing.

I bought a used 28' Pace Pursuit over the weekend..I have some dingy grayish/blackish streaks on it from the water draining down from storage, anyone know how to get them out? I am going to try simple-green tonight and see how it goes. Also, does anyone use anything specific on the aluminum edge caps, trim pieces etc?

Suggestions appreciated!

Use an orbital buffer for waxing. Makes short(er) work of it.

I use Full Timer's Choice Black Streak Remover on our white enclosed trailer.

I got them from here --> http://www.traileraid.com/traileraid...CategoryId=216
